Join God's Story.

Beginning in 7th grade, students will Join God’s Story and develop relationships through the teaching model of small groups.

By staying in tune with issues that are relevant to students, this ministry seeks to go from ‘head knowledge’ to ‘heart knowledge’. Developmentally, students are seeking to understand their own identity while also needing a high level of support from caring adults. Small Group Leaders provide that emotional and spiritual support, along with guidance from our Youth Director, Jesse Moes.

In small groups, students will:

  • Learn to show Jesus’ love to those around them

  • Practice living out the story of Jesus, in each part of their world

  • Have a safe space to be themselves and build meaningful relationships with adults and their peers

  • Hear about who God says they are and how that can impact the way they are in the world as family members, students, and friends

  • Laugh and participate in fun activities

  • Develop an understanding of the fullness and excitement of their faith, which will help them begin to ask the right questions, surround themselves with the right people, and take important steps in their faith

Our seventh and eighth graders meet at Evergreen on Sunday nights 4:30-6pm September through April. If you know a student who would love to be connected to a healthy community, or know an adult who would love to spend quality time with middle school students on Wednesday nights, email our youth director Jesse Moes!
