Middle School Youth Director

The Middle School Youth Director will develop and mobilize a large volunteer staff to create intentional space and structure for spiritual formation and discipleship of the youth at Evergreen.
• Reports to: Director of Student Ministries
• Hours: Fulltime Salaried

Essential Duties:

• Leader recruitment and training
• Review and implementation of curriculum
• Overseeing the Profession of Faith process for 7th-8th grade students
• Communicating regularly with parents
• Welcoming visiting families
• Working with other ministry leaders to implement Fall Camp and Trader Trips
• Creating intentional experiences for students to encounter Jesus
• Connecting with students outside of Wednesday night programming

Qualifications:

• Commitment to Jesus Christ. Be a person of exemplary Christian character, a person of prayer who practices the spiritual disciplines
• Acceptance of Reformed theology
• Experience/knowledge of faith formation in middle school students
• Experience/knowledge of development of middle school students
• Passion for inclusion of those with special needs
• Organizational, relational, and classroom management skills
• Willingness to gain additional knowledge and skills in order to improve the ministry
• Willingness to work within a collaborative environment where responsibilities may go beyond the stated job description

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 2-4 years of experience working in youth ministry
• Formal teaching experience helpful
