March is here, and I welcome the change of seasons. Our family and neighborhood starts to show signs of life again. We have spent so much time hibernating inside this winter, but as the daylight stays around longer and the weather becomes more inviting, we respond to the tug to once again get out and mingle with our community. Bike rides, walks, catching up with neighbors, etc. I love this season!
That is one reason why I was so excited as I was going through this month’s edition of HomeFront. The focus is responsibility: God has entrusted me with the things and people He created around me. Perfect! There are so many great activities and articles that speak to me during this season.
Here are some of the pages I marked while reading through the magazine:
- Who is my neighbor? Responsibility Calendar pg. 8-9 – A great activity that isn’t too crafty and we can use it all year! I might even take this idea and use it on our marker board calendar that still says “JULY”!
- Walking Tacos pg. 14-15 – this is a meal that our family typically enjoys while we are camping. It is quick, everyone can make it how they like it, and you can eat it on the go. I love the twist that they include! Can’t wait to try it.
- My Spouse ….my neighbor pg. 34-35 – as this season also brings a myriad of events, sometimes my husband and I seem to operate like taxis passing in the driveway. This article was a great reminder, with great ideas about how to “love my neighbor”.
The magazine is full of other great activities and articles as well. It broadens the idea of who our “neighbors” are and how we can be “responsible” for them. Check it out, you won’t be disappointed.
I hope you enjoy the changing of the season and all of the “neighbors” in your community. Maybe I will see you out on a walking taco night!
