We are so glad you are here!

Welcome! I’m Larry Doornbos, one of the pastors here at EverGreen Ministries. At EverGreen, we practice acceptance for all, no matter the circumstances; innovation in worship, and an outward focus. We’re here to make passionate followers of Jesus and are devoted to showing God’s love to our neighbors. We hope you will find EverGreen to be a welcoming place.

What do you believe?

EverGreen Ministries is a part of the Christian Reformed Church. Our primary foundation lies in the text/scripture but we also espouse the creeds and confessions of the Christian Reformed Church (The Apostles’ Creed, The Nicene Creed, The Heidelberg Catechism, and Our World Belongs to God).

What is the service like?

At EverGreen, everyone gathers in the auditorium and we begin by worshiping in song. Sometimes we have a drama related to our sermon, or a short video. We greet one another, have announcements, and pray. As we collect the offering, kids in 1st-2nd grade are dismissed to their classrooms. After the sermon, we sing another song and then the service concludes.

How long is the service?

Our Sunday morning services at 9:15 & 11:00 usually last about an hour. Our Recovery service on Sunday evenings at 5:30 is 45 minutes.

What time should I arrive?

We have two services on Sunday morning: 9:15 and 11:00. Coffee and sweets are served between the two services (roughly 10:20 – 10:50), so you may want to come a little early if you’re attending the second service. We have a Recovery service on Sunday evenings at 5:30 pm (the first four Sundays of the month) which explore how faith can help us with our relationships, hurts, and hang-ups.

What do I wear?

The dress is quite casual at EverGreen. Many people, including the pastors, will often wear jeans. Our mantra is “come as you are,” both in terms of dress, and where you’re at in life. We’re all imperfect people with hurts, habits and hang-ups. We’re here to learn about Jesus and become passionate followers of Him.

What style of music is used?

Our music is contemporary. We sing newer Christian music and praise songs but also include a contemporary version of a hymn once in a while. Our music team usually consists of a lead singer with one or two back-up singers, guitars and drums. Many people comment that they enjoy the music at EverGreen.

What about my child?

When you come in the main entrance, there is a Children’s Check-In area off to the right, where you can register children from birth through 2nd grade. Kids who are nursery-age through Kindergarten go directly to their classrooms. Those in 1st and 2nd grade begin worship in the auditorium and then are dismissed during the offering. Children in 3rd – 8th grade have a youth program on Wednesday nights (6:30-8:00). High school students meet on Sunday nights from 6-8.

What Bible version is used?

At EverGreen, we use the New International Version of the Bible.

Where do I park?

We’re located at 4512 48th Avenue (just south of Chicago Drive). There is a long entrance up to our building. Please park wherever you find an open spot.
