Jesus said, “Go and be my disciples in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and to the ends of the earth.” We take that statement and use it for a four year rotation with our sr. high summer mission trips. This year is our Samaria trip and we are heading to Houston, TX to work for Center for Student Missions. Our team will be serving the homeless through soup kitchens, homeless shelters, and meeting the needs in the community. Below you will find all the details for the trip:

Departing: from EGM on Sunday, July 10th at 10am
Returning: to EGM on Saturday, July 16th around 7pm
Organization: Center for Student Missions (CSM)

Upcoming Dates and Deadlines:
– Jan. 31st – 2nd $200 deposit due – you may place this in an envelope in the red box
– June 26th – final payment $350 due – you may place this in an envelope in the red box – parent and student meeting to go over final trip information – 6-7pm in the Auditorium

– students must attend 3 out of 4 youth meetings a month
– students must attend pre-trip meeting:
– Sunday, June 26th 6-7pm in Auditorium – this meeting is for parents and students

Typical Day:
– Breakfast
– Devotions
– Worksites
– Lunch
– Worksites
– Dinner at local ethnic restaurant
– Evening Activities

Packing List:
– Bedding – sheets, blanket, pillow
– Towel
– Toiletries – shampoo, deodorant, tooth brush, etc.
– Water bottle – will refill often
– Bible, pen, journal (optional)
– Work Clothes (rules from CSM) – most sites prefer long jeans/long pants, closed-toed shoes, shirts that expose the shoulders (tank tops, etc.) may NOT be worn, shirts must be long enough to raise arms without exposing midriff or underwear, for summer, shorts to wear around our housing site and at most ministry sites (modest length), sandals or flip-flops may be worn around the CSM buildings, but be prepared to change at worksites, one-piece swimsuits with modest cut for females

– Leisure Clothes – use discretion, no short shorts, halter tops, etc. light-weight jacket/sweatshirt for evenings
– Activities at housing site – you might want to bring some card/board games, etc for free time activities
