Small Group Ministry

Groups Main

Mission:

To connect people spiritually and relationally in groups in order to be and make passionate followers of Jesus.

Focus:

Our small group ministry implements the STAR Focus; an acronym that helps us understand what a passionate follower of Jesus looks like. Our groups are organized by their focus. Each group will show evidence of every focus, but will spend more time on one focus area than the others.

Service

We are a people who are devoted to showing love by doing good.

Text

We are a people who are devoted to the study and living out of Scripture.

Authenticity

We are a people who are devoted to living genuine lives before God, one another, and the world.

Recovery

We are a people who are devoted to healing and being healed of addictions, hurts, and destructive habits.

Community

We are a people who are devoted to welcoming those looking for a place to belong, both inside and outside the church.

Prayer

We are a people who are devoted to prayer for each other, EGM, and our world.

How They Work

Our small groups are typically 8 to 12 people who meet together 2 to 3 times per month. Depending on the group’s focus, meetings may include Bible study, prayer, service, accountability and/or social activities. Each group has one or more leaders who are responsible for developing group member’s strengths and gifts, with the goal of making passionate followers of Jesus.

Twice per year, group leaders set goals for their group and create a covenant defining the expectations for participation. Group members are encouraged to use these times decide whether to continue with the group. Members are free to find another group or choose not to participate for a time. Those that continue with the group agree to the expectations defined in the group covenant.
