God, the ultimate artist, created us in His image, with mighty imaginations and eyes for the unseen. We believe that the arts are an important way to describe and glorify God, and that they are a powerful way to tell His story, especially to people who hunger for spirituality, but don’t know God. Please contact Jodi Cole Meyer at jodi@egm.org with any questions.
Drama
Our drama team works together to learn about the skills and art of theater where we use them in weekly services and in annual productions as a way to touch our community. We do Broadway-style musicals and travelling children’s shows. These shows are open to anyone who would like to join us – to audition, call the office for details (616.669.7700). In March of 2012 we performed Lynn Ahrens’ and Stephen Flaherty’s Seussical: The Musical based on the works of Dr. Seuss.
Arts Camp
Every summer, we offer a week of arts instruction to the kids in our community. Totally free, this is a great week of learning about the fundamentals of artistic expression, experiencing the fullness of Christian community, and inspiration to express themselves. We start registration the first week of June, and Arts Camp 2012 is scheduled for July 29-August 2. The theme for this year’s Arts Camp is “The Story.”
Graphics / Video / Photography
Our team works together and separately, creating pieces for our worship services and other events.
Visual Arts
Painters, cartoonists, and artists in all media work together and separately to call people to a new understanding of God and His story.
